How to Buy Wholesale Mobile Phones from Dubai Freezones (DAFZA & JAFZA)

Why Dubai Freezones Power Global Telecom Commerce

Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA) and Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) handle billions of dollars in consumer electronics re-exports every year. Designed specifically to facilitate cross-border trade, these designated zones offer distinct commercial advantages for international bulk electronics buyers.

Core Freezone Advantages for Smartphone Wholesalers:

1. 100% Foreign Ownership & Capital Repatriation: International traders can transact smoothly with registered freezone entities.
2. 0% Corporate and Import Customs Duty on Transit: Cargo entering the freezone for international re-export incurs zero UAE customs tariffs (standard 5% mainland customs duty is waived).
3. Zero-Rated UAE VAT for Export Orders: When mobile inventory is shipped directly outside the UAE with customs bill of exit verification, the standard 5% UAE VAT does not apply.
4. Immediate Runway Access: DAFZA's direct physical connection to Dubai International Airport (DXB) allows air cargo manifests to be processed, customs-cleared, and placed on cargo planes in as little as 6 hours.

Documentary Requirements for Seamless Export Clearance

To ensure rapid customs clearance at destination airports in Europe, the GCC, or Africa, your freezone distributor must supply:

• Commercial Invoice with HS Code: Must classify mobile handsets under Harmonized System Code 8517.13.00 (Smartphones).
• Dubai Customs Export Declaration / Bill of Exit: Validates duty-free status and protects buyer accounting records.
• Air Waybill (AWB): Master and House Air Waybill tracks the consignment from DXB to destination airport.
• Tamper-Proof Serialized Packing Manifest: Detailed spreadsheet matching every boxed handset to its IMEI and carton number.
